The biggest difference between environmental and social sustainability is who sees and feels them.
Everyone cares about carbon emissions because everyone notices climate change one way or the other.
But when it comes to workers’ rights, unless you live in a few poor countries, you’d have no idea what’s happening to workers.
And that makes the progress slow.
The key is education. The more we know, the more we care, and the more we do.
Only one garment factory out of hundreds in Faisalabad in Pakistan, paid workers their full wages during the 2020 lockdown.
